History of Crystal Gemstones

Crystal stones have been used throughout history and can be dated back more than 30,000 years. They are created through a continuous geological process where hot magma is cooled over thousands of years. With the gradual movement and displacement of the magma, sand, dust, and other chemical substances, various crystals are formed. This process has taken place over the course of billions of years, and is a result of interactions of matter, energy rotation, and gravity.

Many references to Crystals can also be found in the Bible as well. They are symbols of health and Godliness. Israel's high priest would wear 12 stones in his breast plate to represent the 12 tribes of Israel. They strongly believed that they possessed extraordinary powers.

According to John’s vision, in the book of Revelation, New Jerusalem is built from gemstones. It talks of the city being made of gold and is like looking into clear glass. The wall of the city is adorned with all types of precious stones. The foundation layers of the wall were layered out as such. The first layer is Jasper; Second layer Sapphire; Third layer Chalcedony; Fourth layer Emerald; Fifth layer Sardonyx; Sixth layer Sardius; Seventh layer Chrysolite; Eighth layer Beryl; Ninth layer Topaz; Tenth layer Chrysoprase; Eleventh layer Jacinth; Twelfth layer Amethyst; and the twelve gates of the city were made of twelve Pearls.

While the number twelve was associated with the highest harmony and perfection, the strength of the stones was linked to the power of God. The twelve apostles, the twelve walls of Jerusalem, and the twelve zodiac signs, all have designated gems with each one having its own special attributes.
